Yvonne M. Urey

Yvonne M. (Alloway) Urey, 85, of Red Lion, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late George L. Urey, Sr.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 7, 2025 at St. Luke Church, 2666 Furnace Road, Felton with Sister Joy V. Hovis officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Urey was born on May 8, 1940 in Brogue, a daughter of the late Ira and Elizabeth (Horvath) Alloway. She was a longtime member of St. Luke Church. Yvonne found immense joy in looking after children, a passion she embraced through her work as a babysitter. She also had a profound love for cooking and would spend countless hours reading cookbooks, discovering new recipes and techniques that she eagerly shared with her family. Baking was an art form for her, and her kitchen resonated with the delightful aromas of treats that brought smiles to the faces of all who gathered around her table. Yvonne's happiest moments were those spent surrounded by her family. Her comforting presence were the foundation of family gatherings.

Mrs. Urey is survived by a son, George L. Urey, Jr. of Red Lion; a granddaughter, Bethann M. and husband Justin Smith of Felton; and two great grandchildren, Ryker and Elliana Smith. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Diana M. Campbell and Beth Ann Urey; and three brothers, Joseph, Leroy, and Dale Alloway.
