Yola J. (Alloway) Ludwig, 99, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Frank E. Ludwig, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 12, 2025 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the entrance of the Cemetery at 9:45 AM. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ludwig was born on June 27, 1926 in York, a daughter of the late Edna Frances (Shorts) Alloway and Richard M. Alloway, Sr. She was a 1945 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. Yola was a seamstress at Danskin Inc. for many years before she began her work as a nurse’s aid at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She later retired from Pleasant Acres. Mrs. Ludwig loved working with and taking care of the patients at Pleasant Acres. Yola also enjoyed playing card games and dominos. She was a member of Arlington Evangelical Congregational Church.
Mrs. Ludwig is survived by three sons, Frank E. “Sam” Ludwig, III and wife Sandy of Oxford, WI, James E. Ludwig of Keystone Heights, FL, and Toby B. Ludwig and wife Theresa of Red Lion; ten grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Sue Ann and Joe Taylor; a brother, Richard M. Alloway, Jr.; and three sisters, E. Ernestine Gemmill, G. Jacqueline Martin, and E. Jevonne Alloway.
