FELTON-William A. Strausser, 87, of Chanceford Township, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Donna H. (Hartzell) Strausser, to whom he was married to for 57 years before her passing in 2016.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. The service will be webcast live and can be viewed by searching William’s obituary at HeffnerCare.com. His pastor, Chris Golembiowski will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Felton.
Mr. Strausser was born in Shoemakersville, PA on March 22, 1938, the son of the late Reverend William P. and Loraine (Pannepacker) Strausser. He attended Georgia Military Academy in Milledgeville, GA and he was also in the Merchant Marine Academy. He later decided to change his career to be a butcher, working for several grocery chains. He had a vision as a teenager that he would one day own a farm, which was fulfilled in 1961. He lived out his life on that farm except for seven years he spent in Coral Springs, FL. He also worked four other farms during that period of time.
Mr. Strausser was a member at Windsor Assembly of God, where he was a Sunday school teacher. He and his wife loved to travel together and with friends. They traveled to every state except Hawaii and Rhode Island. They went on many cruises to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Canada.
Mr. Strausser leaves a daughter, Kimberly W. Strausser-Schmuck and her husband Brady of Felton; a son, David W. Strausser, MD of Woodlands, TX; four grandchildren, Leanne Crouse and her husband Kevin of Felton, John Wills, III of Dover, and Sabrina and Sophia Strausser, both of Houston, TX; a great granddaughter Rebecca Lagberg of Jonestown, PA; a sister, Linda Strausser Slusser of Carlisle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Strausser Jones.
