William E. "Bill" Grove

William E. "Bill" Grove, 90, of Stewartstown, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Charlene A. (Trimble) Grove to whom he was married for 55 years before her passing in 2013.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York with Certified Celebrant Allison Duke officiating. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is honored to serve the family.

Bill was born on September 17, 1936 in Cooks, PA, to the late David R. and Nellie D. (Stape) Grove. Mr. Grove worked for Miller and Hartman, Inc., as a forklift operator for 28 years before retiring in 1998. A proud member of Moose Lodge #148, Bill enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. William was a devoted family man and the best Pap anyone could ask for.

William is survived by two sons, Danny E. and wife Jeanne Grove of Torrington, WY and Jeffery S. Grove of California; a grandson, Craig Grove and his significant other LauraJo “LJ” Funck of Elizabethtown; an adopted granddaughter Nicole Mendoza; two great grandchildren Saydie and Jonathan; and three sisters, Linda Hughes, Bonnie Sumpman, and Gladys Schradley. He is preceded in death by a son, Timothy A. Grove; and nine brothers and sisters.
