Wayne R. Morris, 76, of York, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Gloria A. Morris to whom he would’ve been married for four years in December.
On October 19th, 2026 there will be a viewing held at Genesis Church, 1405 Seven Valleys Road, York, from 9:30-11AM. There will be a Celebration of Life Tribute Service to follow at 11:00AM. Pastor Bob Tome will be officiating. Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with Military Honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York, is honored to serve the family.
Born December 28, 1949, in York, he was the son of the late Arthur E. Morris and Mae I. Waldt. Wayne was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran who honorably served during the Vietnam War. In recognition of his bravery and sacrifice, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Marksman Badge, and Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, Mr. Morris attended York College of Pennsylvania for a couple of years, then he went on to build his own financial and investment business connected to Banker’s Life. As well as working for companies such as BAE Systems, and several golf courses. He was a member of Genesis Church and enjoyed spending his free time golfing, cheering on Penn State wrestling and football, traveling the world with his wife, taking cruises, and visiting casinos. Above all, Wayne was a true people-person whose friendly nature left a lasting impression on those whose lives he touched.
In addition to his beloved wife, Gloria, he is survived by two children, Todd Morris and his wife Andrea of York and Lori Villarreal and her husband Tony of Spring Grove; 4 step-children, Jennifer and David and Kenny and Tina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Phillip Morris; and Ned, his beloved dog and best friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as an infant brother.
