Stewartstown—Wayne E. Swords, 61, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at his residence in E. Hopewell Township. He was the husband of Grace L. (Schnetzka) Swords to whom he was married for 38 years. A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2007, at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. David Haynes-Weller of Hopewell United Presbyterian Church in Felton officiating. Visitations will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, and from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Swords was born September 24, 1946 in Loganville, a son of the late Clarence and Hilda (Kile) Swords. He was employed with Wagman and Son Machine in Mt. Wolf as a machine operator for 20 years. A United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, he was also a member of the Glen Rock American Legion. Camping, Traveling with family and antiquing with his wife were a few his favorite past-times. In addition to his wife, Mr. Swords is also survived by three children, Kelly J. Swords of Stewartstown, Robert E. Swords of Glen Rock and Christine L. Buckingham of Glen Rock, one granddaughter, Autumn M. Swords, two brothers, Clarence Swords Jr., and William Swords both of Stewartstown, two sisters, Ethel Hartman of Brogue and Dorothy Smith of Red Lion and numerous nieces and nephews. One sister, Geraldine Winters, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
