POTTSVILLE- Wanetta E. (Thompson) Potts, 94, of the Golden Living Center in Camp Hill, PA, and formerly of Pottsville and Cressona, PA went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 16, 2012. She was the loving wife of the late Edward H. Potts who passed away on July 10, 1999. The couple married February 8, 1939 and had 60 years together. Wanetta was born on January 3, 1918 in Barnes, KS, daughter of the late Selby and Teena (Linderman) Thompson. She was a seamstress for Peak-A-Boo Styles in Schuylkill Haven, PA and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Wanetta was Protestant by faith and was a member of The Salvation Army. Wanetta is survived by her daughters: Patricia Ann Hopkins and Betty Jane Lagle, both of Harrisburg, PA, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Wanetta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, her sons: Ned Selby Potts, Vernon Edward Potts, and Selby Charles Potts, her daughter Grace Mary Flecha, her brothers: Merrill Thompson, Sam Thompson, Edward Thompson, Cecil Thompson, and Ervin Thompson, and her sisters: Violet Baltzer and Helen Hossler. Family and friends are welcome to call from 12-1 pm on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & Market Streets, Pottsville, PA. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 22nd at the funeral home with Retired Major Paul Mackneer officiating. Burial will be made in Jerusalem Union Cemetery following the funeral service. Contributions may be made in Wanetta’s memory to the The Salvation Army, Pottsville.
