Vivian E. (Chance) Bailey

YORK – Vivian E. (Chance) Bailey, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Country Meadows at Leader Heights, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Theodore “Tim” R. Bailey.

A Celebration of Vivian’s Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with Pastor Jim Gurganus officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

Born May 24, 1943 in Saxis, Virginia, Vivian was the only child and daughter of the late James and Estelle (Clark) Chance. After High School, Vivian attended Goldie Beacon Secretarial School. Following her education there, she worked as an executive secretary for DuPont, Exxon, and later retired from John Hopkins School of Medicine. Vivian was a devoted church goer and served faithfully. She was also very dedicated to her family, adoring all the time they spent together.

In addition to her beloved husband, Vivian is survived by two daughters, Susan Howard and her husband Scott, and Mariellen Nelson and her husband Michael; and one grandchild, Timothy A. Nelson.
