Virginia E. (Shellenberger) Powell

OMAHA, NE- Virginia E. (Shellenberger) Powell, 88, formerly of York, died Monday, November 21, 2011 in Omaha, NE. She was the wife of the late George L. Powell. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Mount Rose Cemetery in York. The Reverend Robert Helsel will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, PA is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Powell was born in York on April 14, 1923, daughter of the late Charles E. and Lillian M. (Rexroth) Shellenberger. She retired from Harley Davidson Motor Company in York and was a member of American Machine Foundry Alumni. Mrs. Powell leaves two sons, Ronald L. Powell and his late wife, Debra of Red Lion and John L. Powell and his wife Stephanie of Pinehurst, NC; a daughter, Leah R. Jorstad of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother Charles E. Shellenberger of Harahan, LA and nieces and nephews.
