DALLASTOWN-Thomas R. “Tom” Keener, 77, of York Township, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen R. “Jake” (Paules) Keener. The couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on November 30, 2025.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. There will be a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Pastor Luke Harbaugh will be officiating at the service. The service will be webcast live and can be viewed by searching Tom’s obituary at HeffnerCare.com.
Tom was born in New Bridgeville on December 12, 1948. He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Marcelene M. (Arnold) Keener. He worked as a tool and die maker/mold technician for over 30 years at Burndy Electronics, which became FCA in Emigsville, where he retired.
Tom was a 1968 graduate of Red Lion High School. He received awards from Air Max and Boeing. He was an avid deer hunter and gardener and was gifted in the ability to fix almost anything. He was known by the neighbors for his fruit and his potatoes.
Along with his wife Kathy, he leaves a daughter, Kelli S. Minnich and her husband Thomas of Dallastown; two grandchildren, Morgan Smith and her husband Dylan and Mackenzie Rice and her husband Jacob; two great grandchildren, Piper Smith and Radley Smith, a brother, Larry G. Keener and his wife Cheryl of Felton; a sister, Diane E. Lamparter and her husband John of Lancaster; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and his aunt, Evelyn Neff.
