Theresa E. Baker

FELTON- Theresa E. (Smith) Baker, 78, of North Hopewell Township, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026 at York Hospital. She was the wife of David L. Baker. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on August 24, 2025.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Codorus Church, a Light in the Valley, 1129 Dunkard Valley Rd. in Dallastown, with a viewing from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Eric Ritenour will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Red Lion.

Theresa was born in York on August 21, 1947, the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Erma Lee (White) Smith. She worked at W.S. Owen & Brothers Insurance Agency in York, Norristown State Hospital Administration, TastySnack in Windsor, and at Herman Printing Company in Red Lion for 14 and a half years.

Theresa was a member of Codorus Church, a Light in the Valley in Dallastown She taught Sunday school for 3,4, and 5-year olds. She was a 1965 graduate of Red Lion High School. She was a stay-at-home mom and grandma who helped to take care of her grandsons, Aaron and Austin, including attending all of their home volleyball and soccer games. She loved gardening and scrapbooking as well as horses and dogs.

Along with her husband David, she leaves two daughters, Rebecca Ann Steiner and her husband John of Red Lion and Rachel Elizabeth Baker of Colorado; four grandchildren, Aaron David Steiner and his wife Melissa, Austin John Steiner and his significant other, Dakota, Mikayla Rose Patterson and her husband Matthew, and Jackson Wyatt Hoffman and his wife Monica; three great grandchildren Matthew Steiner, Elizabeth Patterson, and Luke Patterson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin David Smith and Harry Alvis Smith.
