Theodore E. Ramer

YORK – Theodore E. “Ted” Ramer, 87, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Wellspan York Hospital. He was married to Susan C. (Yingling) Ramer for 63 wonderful years.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 1, 2025. Rev. Richard Bowers will officiate the service at Greenmount Cemetery in York. Military Honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Born June 29, 1938, in York, he was the son of the late Lester H. and Mary E. (Shindel) Ramer. Ted voluntarily enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating from William Penn Senior High School in 1956. After serving his country for three years, he attended Penn State University and graduated in 1961 with an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Immediately after graduation he went to work for Bell Telephone, and he dedicated 30 years to the company as an engineer and cost accountant before retiring in 1991. In his free time, he and Sue enjoyed motorcycle rides and traveling to national parks. He was an avid gardener, woodworker, and Penn State Nittany Lion fan.

In addition to his beloved wife Sue, he is survived by his son Geoff and his wife Mary Anne of Macomb, MI; his son Steve and his wife Anne Marie of Bethlehem; as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Thelma E. Fair of York.
