Susan Marie (Yeaple) Fissel, 61, of York, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 in Chamberlain, South Dakota. She was the wife of Gary L. Fissel to whom she was married for almost 43 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA 17408 with Rev. Robert Riedy officiating the service. There will be a viewing from 6:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Born September 7, 1964 in York, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Janet M. (Honsermyer) Yeaple. Susan attended Church of the Open Door and lived a life centered on faith, family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She was a 1982 graduate of York Suburban High School. For most of her working life, she worked at Minnich's Pharmacy, recently retiring after 32 years.
Outside of her hard work, she enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, camping, relaxing at the beach, and spending peaceful moments on her patio overlooking the pond. Susan loved decorating for the holidays, cooking, and hosting family gatherings. Being "Mimi" was one of her greatest joys, and she treasured every moment with her family. She enjoyed all kinds of music, adored her four beloved cats, and was always impeccably dressed in a feminine style.
In addition to her beloved husband, Gary, she is survived by her daughter, Kelsey M. White and her husband Jesse of York; three granddaughters, Adalynn, Baylee, and Charlotte; two brothers, Tom Honsermyer and Barry Yeaple; two sisters, Sandy Althoff and Linda Joseph; as well as her four beloved cats, Gracie, Momma, Diamond, and Silk.
Memorial contributions in Susan’s honor may be made to Church of the Open Door at www.codyork.org.
