Susan V. (Linsey) Allan, 82, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Melvin D. Allan, who passed away in 2002.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM, Friday, August 15, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be her brother-in-law, the Rev. Ronald F. Short. A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00AM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Born January 11, 1943 in York, she was the daughter of the late Milton C. and Mildred E. (Myers) Linsey. She graduated from West High School with the class of 1960.
She began working for the United States Department of Labor in Washington D.C., and later in Frankfurt, Germany for 3 years. During her time in Germany, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and as fate would have it, she met a young solider stationed there whom she would eventually marry.
Her working career concluded with Dentsply, where she was employed for 10 years and retired due to her Multiple Sclerosis progression. After which, she became a homemaker and loving full time grandma.
She loved spending time with family and cherished every moment with her grandchildren. A member of Faith United Church of Christ, she also enjoyed gardening and tending to her many flower beds. Together with her husband, she continued her love for traveling and never missed an episode of Days of Lives.
Mrs. Allan is survived by one son, Brent S. Allan of York; one daughter, Michelle A. Wallace and her husband, David Wallace II of Dover; two grandchildren, Kurstyn Lang and her husband, Zackary and Tanner Wallace; one brother, Edward C. Linsey and his wife, Vivian of Red Lion; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Linsey of Wellsville and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey D. Linsey.
