Steven E. Moyer

Steven E. Moyer, 72, of Red Lion, fondly known as “Mole,” passed away unexpectedly early September 19, 2026. Born January 1, 1954, Steven was truly one of a kind. He marched to the beat of his own drum, lived life on his own terms, and was unique in every sense of the word.

He is survived by his brother, Kim Moyer and his wife, Cynthia; of York; several nieces and nephews; his beloved cats, including Pebbles; and the many friends whose lives he touched over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Patricia Moyer, and his brother, Mark Moyer, of Red Lion.

Steven graduated from Red Lion HS in 1972. He was a simple man who loved the NY Yankees, Reese’s PB Cups, scratching lottery tickets, and bowling. He spent many years bowling and working at Lion Bowl, where he could be seen on lanes 5 & 6 chasing that 300 game. Lion Bowl became so much more than a bowling alley to him. It was home, it was where he spent much of his life, including his final moments, and where he formed friendships and memories with all who came through the doors, but especially with dear friends Mike, Dave, and Tim Zelger, their families, Bridget Roth, and Emery Pajer.

Steven was not someone you could easily describe in a few words. He was simply Mole—a character, a friend, a brother, and someone who left his own unmistakable mark on the lives of those who knew him. He will be remembered for being exactly who he was, and for the memories, laughter, friendships, and most of all, the many stories he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lion Bowl, 90 Martin Street, Red Lion, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11am to 2pm. Stop by and share your favorite "Mole" story. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
