Born July 9, 1955, in Harrisburg, a son of the late George J. and Evelyn M. (Hartman) Coffey; he was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School. Mr. Coffey had worked at Shiloh Nursery, a job he very much enjoyed; then spent many years as a quarry truck driver for Codorus Crushed Stone in East York. Known as a hard worker who was dependable, Steve also worked part-time delivering newspapers for the York Daily Record. In retirement, Mr. Coffey was a greeter, maintenance man, and overall fix-it guy at Cedar Lake Campground. He loved to travel with his wife, as they explored Key West and went camping in the mountains of New York and the Shenandoah Valley. Steve had a green thumb and enjoyed planting and tending to his indoor and outdoor flower gardens. When he did finally sit down, his beloved French Bulldog, Pug, and Dachshund would keep him company.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Coffey is survived by two sons, Nathaniel and wife Jennifer Coffey of Mechanicsburg and Matthew Coffey and his significant other Joanna Withers of the Poconos; and three grandchildren, Madison Taylor, Ashlyn Coffey, and Tristan Coffey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Coffey.
