Stella (Markowski) Ziobro

DUPONT-Stella Ziobro, 92, of Dupont, passed away Wednesday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Township. Born in Avoca on November 11, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Ksawery and Mary (Kristula) Markowski. She was a member of Holy Mother of Sorrows Church, Dupont, where she was also a member of ANS. Mrs. Ziobro previous worked in the garment industry in Avoca. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who passed away in 1995; a son, Robert, who passed away in 2003; sister Loretta VanBlagan; brother Edward Markowski and infant brother Fredrick Markowski. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Ann Reynolds, Harpersville, NY and Ruth Ziobro, Dupont; daughter-in-law Rita Ziobro, Dupont; grandsons, Robert Ziobro, Dupont and Ricky Ziobro, Avoca; sisters Irene Dudzik, Duryea and Dolores Heffelfinger, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main Street, Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Mother of Sorrows Church, Dupont. Father Zbignew Dawid will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Dupont. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
