Shirley Mae (Coates) Thacker

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP- Shirley Mae (Coates) Thacker, 71, of York, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010. She was the wife of the late Wayne "Jack" Thacker. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Thacker was born in Martinsburg, WV on March 17, 1938, a daughter of the late Charles Coates and Margaretta (Yontz) Starliper. Mrs. Thacker leaves two daughters, Athene M. Steinke and her husband Leland of York and Donna L. Watkins and her husband Rudy of Corrales, NM; five grandchildren, Bethany, Melody, Joe, Erich, and Nicholas; four great grandchildren, Maya, Shanayah, Ahraya, and Napash; a sister Betty "Peanut" Coates of Martinsburg, WV, and numerous cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
