Shirley A. Hursh

YORK – Shirley A. (Leese) Hursh, 85, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Providence Place of Dover. She was the wife of the late Marlyn E. Hursh. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with her pastor, The Rev. DeAnn Books officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Born July 7, 1936 in York, a daughter of the late Catherine (Fife) and Harry M. Leese, Sr.; she was a 1954 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Over the years, Mrs. Hursh has worked at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home, White Rose Roofing, and Planned Parenthood. She had been a member of White Rose Clown Club, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Cedarettes, Shiloh Lutheran Church, and was previously involved with Lutheran Church Women. Mrs. Hursh is survived by two sons, M. Scott and wife Kay Hursh of York and Dain E. and wife Tish Hursh of York; four grandchildren, Gregory, Jonathan, Christian, and Hailie; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry M. Leese, Jr.; and a sister, Lovetta Neff. Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Lutheran Church, 2201 Church Road, York, PA 17408.
