Scott David Lauer

YORK – Scott D. Lauer, 62, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 in Luzerne County. He was the husband of Laura E. (Gardner) Lauer to whom he was married for two years and shared his life with for 16 years.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA 17408, with Pastoral Assistant Ben Hassinger officiating the service. There will be a viewing from 9:00-10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Born February 23, 1963, in Denver, CO, he was a son of Norka N. (Gladfelter) Daugherty of York and the late Forest E. Lauer. Scott was a 1981 graduate of York County School of Technology. For most of his working life, he was a machinist at Pre-Mach Inc. for 45 years. Outside of his hard work, Mr. Lauer was an incredibly talented archer, winning World Champion Archer and IBO World Champion. He was also an avid deer hunter. Outside of his mastered hobbies, Scott also enjoyed the beach and boating with his wife, but above all else, he adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

In addition to his beloved wife, Laura, he is survived by a daughter, Holly A. Kline and her husband Bradley of Manheim; two stepsons, Eddie J. Lehigh and his wife Brianna and Jonathon Lehigh and his wife Alysia, both of York; five grandchildren, Madyson Boyer, Logan Boyer, Juliana Lehigh, Weston Lehigh, and Sophia Lehigh; a brother, Shawn Lauer; a sister, Teresa Free and her husband Nate; and his best friend, Werner Schult. He is preceded in death by his father, Forest Lauer, and a brother, Jeffery Lauer.
