Sara J. Kury

Sara J “Sally” Kury, 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Inners Creek Personal Care on May 11, 2026.

Born June 28,1926 to the late George W. and Miriam A. (Weaber) Black in Lebanon, PA., she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Kury and her brother, George W. Black, Jr.

Sara graduated from Lebanon High School and worked for a time for Hershey Chocolate Co. She married Paul and moved to York, PA where she became a caring, devoted homemaker and mother of 5 children.

Sara was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, York, PA, where she sang in the choir and served on the Women’s Council. Sara also spent countless hours as a volunteer with Easter Seals, American Cancer Society and the Salvation Army.

Sara is survived by her sister, Marion Bowman of Lebanon, and her five children, Michael Kury, Patricia Kury, Nancy Kury, Jane Jewels and Joseph Kury, as well as 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, July 10th at 11:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Rd York PA.
