Sandra J. "Sandy" Wilhide

Sandra J. “Sandy” (Shultz) Wilhide, 79, of York, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Concordia at SpiriTrust Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Jack D. Wilhide to whom she was married for 46 years before his passing in 2011.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., with Celebrant Allison Duke officiating. A visitation will be held from 2 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment is private at Mt. Rose Cemetery.

Sandra was born on December 26, 1946 in York, a daughter of the late Nelson J. and Anna M. (Chronister) Shultz. She attended West York High School and graduated from York College with her Associate of Science in 1988. Following college she worked as a secretary for Smurfit–Stone Container and later retired from Dentsply. Sandy was a member of St. James Lutheran Church for many years.

Mrs. Wilhide is survived by two stepsons, Michael K. Wilhide and J.D. Wilhide II; two sisters, Elberta Sheffer and Jane Harleman; two nephews, Matthew Sheffer and Andrew Sheffer; a niece, Linda Able; and many other nieces and nephews. Sandy is preceded in death by a brother, Nelson E. Shultz; and a sister, Miriam Breen.
