Sandra A. Ness

YORK- Sandra A. Ness, 56, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at her residence. A visitation will be held from 1-3 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. As tribute to Sandy, the family requests that you wear attire representing your favorite sports team. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held following visitation at Pinkie’s Outdoor Country Club Bar & Grill, better known as Sandy’s house. Born February 26, 1959 in York, Sandy was the daughter of the late Alfred E. and Martha Mae (Andrews) Ness. She worked as a service representative for 25 years for Columbia Gas. Sandra was a 1977 graduate of York High. She was the first female drummer in drum line for York High. She enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Steelers, the Flyers, the Orioles, and Penn State. Sandy was compassionate, caring, held her family dear to her heart and loved hosting Friday night at Pinkie’s. Ms. Ness is survived by three brothers, Douglas L. Ness and his wife Katrina of York, Dennis Ness and his companion Rose Strom of York, and Ronald K. Ness and his wife Shelby of Plaindfield, IL; nine nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Millie Ness of Dunlap, IL; and her four beloved pets, Auggie, Abby, Rascal and Jack. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by two brothers, Barry L. Ness, Terry A. Ness, and a sister-in-law, Julie Ness.
