Samuel Charles Kieffer

Samuel Charles Kieffer, 81, of Thomasville, PA passed away at Country Meadows Retirement Community in York, PA on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Sam was born August 8, 1944 to the late Kenneth Kieffer Sr. and Goldie (Bower) Kieffer. He graduated in 1963 from Selinsgrove Area Joint High School in Selinsgrove, PA and in 1966 from Thompson Institute, Harrisburg, PA. He served in the Army Reserves.

Sam was a founder and original owner of K B S Inc. trucking company in Thomasville, PA. He worked alongside his wife Joan and brother Ken for many years at K B S Inc. Sam was an active member of the community for many years with both the York/Adams Chapter of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association as well as the West York Lion’s Club.

Sam was a hunter much of his life and enjoyed hunting trips with longtime friends in both Pennsylvania as well as several trips out west. He also voluntarily helped control the local groundhog population.

His wife of over 53 years, Joan Kieffer, preceded him in 2022. Sam is survived by his siblings: Ken (Rosalie) Kieffer of York, PA; Joan Brewer of Macungie, PA; Connie (Don) Gregory of Stevens City, VA; Roger (Robin) Kieffer of Bell Buckle, TN; Jeff (Beth) Kieffer of Blairsville, GA; Robyn (Jon) Wilson of Gallatin, TN; and his son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Elizabeth Kieffer of York, PA.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. A visitation will be from 12 to 1 PM prior to the service.
