Ruth R. Flickinger

DOVER Ruth R. (Walker) Flickinger, 90, died Thursday morning, August 27, 2015 at Colonial Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Flickinger was born July 8, 1925, in Somerset County. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Nellie Walker. She worked as a packer and on the line at Bon Ton Foods for many years and later retired from the maintenance department. She had also worked as a machinist at Caterpillar. She enjoyed working on word search books, crocheting and knitting. Mrs. Flickinger is survived by her daughter, Joan Rebert and husband, Alan of Dover; two granddaughters, Michelle and husband, Larry Julius of Dover, and Kelly Emberling and fiancé, Donald Sealey of Parkton, NC; three great grandsons, Steven Leinheiser and Brent Leinheiser, both of Dover, and Tyler Becker of Parkton, NC; a great granddaughter, Hailey Sealey of Parkton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters. Following cremation, a service to celebrate Mrs. Flickinger’s life will be scheduled for a later date. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements.
