Ruth A. (West) Schneider

WILKES-BARRE-Ruth A. (West) Schneider, 88, of Poplar Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday, January 4, 2007, in Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Ashley on April 6, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Blackwell) West. She was a graduate of Ashley High School. Mrs. Schneider was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Schneider; son, Richard E. Schneider; and daughter-in-law, Ann Marie, wife of Alan. Surviving are her sons, Alan A. Schneider and his wife, Linda, Wexford; Eric W. Schneider and his wife, Robbie, Shelby Township, MI; daughter-in-law, Barbara Schneider, Mifflinville; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Abby, Amy and Libby. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 453 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Mary E. Laufer will officiate. Interment will follow in Hanover Green Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 453 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
