Ruth A. Deitle

YORK--Ruth A. (Seebold) Scrivens Deitle, 86, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at UPMC-Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late George F. Scrivens.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Pinchot Park Assembly of God, 2755 Rosstown Rd, Wellsville. Officiating the service will be Pastor Harry A. Buhrman Jr. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Thursday at the church. Burial will be held in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Marysville. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements.

Born April 17, 1937 in Northumberland, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mabel (Markley) Seebold.

She was employed at the New Cumberland Army Depot for several years as a forklift operator.

A member of Pinchot Assembly of God, she was also known by many as the “candy lady”.

Mrs. Scrivens is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Buhrman and her husband, Harry; three sons, George Scrivens, Andrew Scrivens and his wife, Norma and John Scrivens and his wife, Jane; thirteen grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, one brother, Donald Seebold; one sister, Betty Molter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, William and Leslie Scrivens and a daughter-in-law, Connie Scrivens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pinchot Park Assembly of God, 2755 Rosstown Rd, Wellsville, Pa 17365.
