WEST YORK- Ruth A. (Clark) Dantro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 30, 2007 after a lengthy illness at the age of 86. She was the wife of the late Peter J. Dantro, who passed away on March 15, 1993. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Stephen's U.C.C., 1569 W. Market Street in York, with a viewing from 9:30 -11 a.m. at the church. Her pastor, The Reverend Elmer W. V. Scofield will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Dantro was born in Columbia, Lancaster County on November 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Chester and Estella (Duffy) Clark. She was a 1938 graduate of Columbia High School. She worked alongside Pete for 47 years at P. J. Dantro and Company where she continued until her illness in 2000. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Stephen's U.C.C. in West York, where she taught Sunday school for 42 years, was a member of the choir, was a member of the Women's Guild and was on the board of Christian Education. She volunteered for 40 years at the Hospitality Shop at Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Dantro leaves two daughters: Linda M. O'Dell and her husband Carl and Kathy R. Mortorff and her husband Laymon, both of York, a son, Peter J. Dantro of York and his wife Christine, six grandchildren: Lisa Kirsten, Lori, Nicole, Leslie, and Joey, and 11 great grandchildren: Justin, Dylan, Logan, Morgan, Cole, Nichalas, Will, Alex, Ashton, Julian, and Ellie, a sister, Nancy Simmons of Lancaster, and nieces and nephews. Two sisters; Dorothy Houck and Lillian Kaufhold and a brother, Russel Clark had preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen's U.C.C., 1569 W.
