Ruth A. (Adamitis) Drouse

DUNMORE- Ruth A. (Adamitis) Drouse, 84, of Avoca, passed away Wednesday April 7th, at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. Born in Inkerman on August 18, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John and Stella (Andrusitis) Adamitis. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca. Ruth was co-owner of Drouse Vending for over 50 years before retiring in 1995. Ruth was an avid animal lover, especially her dog, Teddy. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great-grand mother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edward J. Drouse, Sr, who died February 6, 2001; sisters, Helen Riemer and Ann Abromavage. Surviving are her son, Edward J. Drouse, Jr. and wife Leslie, Moosic; three daughters, Lynn Hahn and her husband, Richard, Gouldsboro; Ruth E. Olmedo and her husband, Frank, Mid Valley; Patricia Bobola and her husband, Walter, Clark Summit; 11 grandchildren, Richard B. Hahn, Sandra Hahn Morra, David Hahn, Mark Hahn, Daniel J. Trotta, Jr., Edward Drouse III, James Drouse, Dayna Capwell, Jason Drouse, Leah Bobola and Jonathon Bobola; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, a sister-in-law, Lillian Molinski, Hackettstown, NJ; several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca. Officiating will be Father Phillip J. Sladicka. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Hospice Community Care, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18512.
