Roy R. Fisher

RED LION – Roy R. Fisher, 94, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at his home. He was the husband of Linda J. (McCleary) Fisher to whom he was married 50 years on February 9, 2023 and the late Rae C. (Moore) Fisher.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 25, 2023 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday and 10-11:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery with military honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born April 26, 1929 in High Rock, York County; a son of the late Elmer C. and Bessie (Miller) Fisher; he was a 1946 graduate of Lower Chanceford High School. Mr. Fisher retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 31 years of service. He was a member of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Red Lion American Legion, and Red Lion VFW. Roy enjoyed socializing and visiting local restaurants with his wife and friends. He was a US Army veteran of The Korean War.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Fisher is survived by a son, Robert M. “Bob” Fisher and wife Elizabeth of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Whitney J. Torbert and husband Richard A. Torbert, Jr. of Red Lion; three grandchildren, Michael and Abigail Fisher, and Riley Torbert; two brothers, Merle Fisher of New Oxford and Lester Fisher of Red Lion; a niece; and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Fisher.
