Roy L. Hanna

RED LION - Roy L. Hanna 79, peacefully entered into eternal rest while surrounded by family at his home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He was the loving husband of Carole C. (Clarkson) Hanna who passed away on February 18, 2025. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on February 5, 2025.

Roy was born July 31, 1946 at York Hospital, son of the late G. LeRoy and Caroline (Hoffman) Hanna. He was a 1964 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. He worked for his father’s dry-cleaning business at Hanna Cleaners. Roy then graduated from Williamsport Area Community College earning his certification in Heavy Equipment & Service Operation. He was a machinist and CNC operator at Caterpillar, Inc. Roy then earned his Realtor license and was an agent with Century 21 Heritage Realty and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty. He was a member of Red Lion Lions Club, Elks Club, and had been a volunteer firefighter at the former Leo Fire Station 34 in Red Lion.

In his younger years, Roy was a Boy Scout and enjoyed outdoor activities such as bird hunting with his dog. Roy loved to scuba dive and vacation to Florida, Cape Hatteras, and the Cayman Islands. He was an avid fisherman and made many fond memories with friends out on the water. He had a wonderful sense of humor and had many funny stories to share. Roy was an all-around great person with the best character.

Roy is survived by his sister, Linda Hanna Michael and her husband Christopher Michael of Wyomissing, PA; a daughter, Colette Gold and her husband Phil Gold of Murrells Inlet, SC; his granddaughter, Jessica Ward and husband Mirza Arshad Dilawar Baig of Dover, PA; and grandson, Cole Burg and his partner Kaitlyn Settle of Grand Junction, CO.

A visitation will be held from 1-1:30 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Tribute Service at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Living Word Community Church in the Life Center room, Door 7; 2530 Cape Horn Road in Red Lion. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
