RED LION – Roxanne M. (Helwig) Sitler, 65, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at her home with her loved ones by her side. She went home to be with the Lord after battling Multiple System Atrophy for 10 years. She was the wife of Stephen N. Sitler to whom she was married for 32 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2023 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home.
Born August 30, 1957 in Hanover, a daughter of the late James and Marie (Thomas) Helwig, she was a 1975 graduate of South Western High School. Over the years, Mrs. Sitler had worked at the former Bowen & McLaughlin York, Bon-Ton Corp. headquarters, and Donegal Mutual Ins. Co. She enjoyed selling Mary Kay and more recently worked alongside her husband in their family business. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, knitting, and going to antique shops and flea markets with her husband. A loving Mother, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a member of Connection Christian Church and participated in numerous Bible study groups. Her spiritual gift was giving, which she shared with many.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sitler is survived by a son, Douglas E. Ward and his partner Kate Knaub of Red Lion; two daughters, Lisa M. Kurtz and husband David of Elk River, MN and Stephanie A. Sohnleitner and husband Ryan of Dallastown; seven grandchildren; a brother, Scott Helwig of Hanover; three sisters, Vicki Trish, Maxine Mosely, and Bobbi Altland all of Hanover; and her dedicated caregiver, Fran Harris. Mrs. Sitler was preceded in death by a half-brother, Earl Mummert.
