RED LION – Roger C. Shue, 70, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Mt. Joy Hospice & Community Care. He was the husband of Brenda J. (Stottlemyer) Shue to whom he was married for 50 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his cousin, The Rev. Michael W. Sigman officiating. A visitation will be held from 3 - 4:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Freysville Cemetery. Born May 3, 1942 in York a son of the late Robert and Ethel (Geesey) Shue, he was a 1960 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mr. Shue retired from Dentsply Intl. in 2000 after 40 years of service. During his career at Dentsply, Roger helped create numerous patents and received many accolades including the President’s Award in 1986. He had been a member of the Dentsply basketball team during the 60’s and 70’s. Roger enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time fishing and hunting with his family. He had volunteered at many York Sports Night’s and local sportsman shows. Mr. Shue was a member of Prince Athletic Assoc. and had attended Westminster Presbyterian Church throughout his childhood and young adult years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Shue is survived by a son, Mark C. and wife Billie Jo Shue of Red Lion; two daughters, Suzanne E. and husband Richard Vertin of Yorkville, IL and Kathleen F. Updegraff of Bethesda, MD; five grandchildren; and a sister, Donna and husband Willard Dinges of York.
