YORK- Robert R. Simpson, II, died on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sharon K. (Johnson) Simpson. The couple wed on July 31, 1971. A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Zion United Methodist Church, 1030 Carlisle Rd., York with the Reverend Bruce Fensterbush officiating. A viewing will be from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. York. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Born on July 20, 1948 in Hanover, he was a son of Robert R. and Lois (Rhine) Simpson. Robert was the owner and operator of Millwrights & Mechanical Services in York for 19 years. Mr. Simpson served our country for 2 years in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Simpson attended Zion United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Jefferson Sportsman Club, a former member of the Local Carpenters and Joiners Union and a life member of the West York VFW Post #8951. He was an avid golfer and an avid hunter. Most importantly, he was a dedicated “Pap” and loved spending time with his grandkids. Along with his wife, Sharon, Robert is survived by one daughter, Carmen Lamb and her husband, Nicholas of Spring Grove; two grandchildren, Hadley Lamb and Grant Lamb; two brothers, Chris Simpson and Steve Simpson two sisters, Kathi Tsathiris and Cheryl Albright; and numerous aunts and uncles.
