LEWISBERRY-Robert Earl “Bob” Krone, 76, of Fairview Township, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Linda Carol (Bowers) Krone.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at New Life Church, 530 Big Spring Rd., in New Cumberland. Pastor Gavin Whitcomb, Sr. will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 -11 a.m. on Wednesday, both at the church. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street in Lewisberry is assisting the family with the arrangements. Burial will be in Tri-County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry, with military honors provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Bob was born in Mechanicsburg on May 23, 1949, the son of the late Earl Melvin and Bertha Florence (Grissinger) Krone. He worked as a police officer in Harrisburg and Lower Allen Township. He later owned two Texaco Service Stations, where he enjoyed being the lead mechanic. He then worked for Avis and was a caregiver for his wife in her later years.
Bob was an active member of Moore’s Mountain Church in Mechanicsburg, where he was involved with the men’s ministry and enjoyed cooking for the men’s breakfast. He received an associate’s degree from Harrisburg Area Community College. Bob enjoyed gardening and working around his house, especially outside on equipment. He loved going camping with his wife and girls, playing cards with his family and friends, going for breakfast at diners, and was attached to his cat Scooter. He was known for his generosity and helping people, supporting missionaries, especially his kids in South Africa. He served in the US Army in the Vietnam war.
Mr. Krone leaves his daughter, Kathy N. Ishler and her husband Darin of Lewisberry; three grandchildren, Tyler, Ella, and Alexis Ishler and three sisters, Mary Robinson, Sharon Shaffer, and Donna Feliksik. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Lynn Krone and a sister, Linda Wert.
