RED LION (formerly of YORK) - Robert C. Clancy, 83, went to be with his Lord Sunday, December 6, 2015 at York Hospital. Bob was the devoted husband and forever sweetheart of the late Barbara A. (Aldinger) Clancy. The couple enjoyed 53 wonderful years of marriage together before Barbara’s passing in 2005. A Celebration of life tribute will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with his Pastor, The Reverend Marion Haynes-Weller officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Clancy served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Born July 27, 1932 in York, Bob was a son of the late Eugene T. and Anna C. (Ness) Clancy. He worked as a machinist for 43 years at Teledyne Readco until his retirement in 1995. He was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon and a youth fellowship leader. Bob was currently a member of the Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church. He also served as committee chairman of Cub Pack 18, Assistant Cubmaster of Cub Pack 18, and assisted with Boy Scout Troop 18. Bob was Vice President of Local Union 12731 during his time at Teledyne Readco, a softball player and manager for the Calvary United Presbyterian Church softball team, an antique dealer, and a Patient Transport volunteer at York Hospital. Bob also was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Steelers and an AVID fan of Notre Dame. Bob loved the outdoors, especially bird watching and fishing and spending time vacationing at a cabin in the mountains outside Ickesburg, PA. Mr. Clancy is survived by two sons, Robert D. Clancy and his wife Selinda L. of Spring Grove (formerly of Yoe) and David E. Clancy and his wife Amy D. of York; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and his beloved Bichon Frise, Holly. In addition to his dear wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Gene A. Clancy and a sister, Doris M. Brown.
