Robert J. Bowser

York Haven – Robert J. Bowser, 88, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the husband of Wanda M. (Myers) Bowser to whom he was married for 45 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:30 PM, Friday July 18, 2025 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home Inc., 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry. A viewing will be held from 1:30 – 2:30PM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Emanuel Cemetery.

Born February 03, 1937 in Madera, Clearfield Co., he was the son of the late Clarence R. and Evelyn H. (Henry) Bowser.

Together with his wife, he was a self-employed small business owner, specializing in real estate purchasing and management. He was also employed with AMP Inc., for 26 years.

A man of strong faith and character, lived his life walking out his faith. One of his favorite bible verses was (Psalm 34). He was a member of the Full Gospel Businessman’s Group, he also played music with the gospel group “His Carpenters” and served in PA National Guard. He loved staying busy and working with his hands. You could often find him woodworking, gardening, playing his guitar or tending to the family’s many cows and chickens. He loved camping and was an avid historian, especially Civil War history.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bowser is also survived by five children, Melinda Wagner and her husband, Bud of Mifflintown, Robert M. Bowser and his wife, Christina of Etters, Shawn C. Russell and his wife, Stephanie of Lewisberry, Anna M. Masse and her husband, Kevin of York Haven and James V. Bowser and his wife, Ashley of Lewisberry; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and numerous niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, William L. Bowser.
