Rickie L. “Rick” Sitler, 86, of Wrightsville, entered into the presence of his Saviour, Sunday, July 27, 2025 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Brenda L. (Frey) Sitler to whom he was married for 62 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church, 3920 East Prospect Road, York with his Pastor, Brian Ferree officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Private burial will be in Craley Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
Rick was born on September 13, 1938 in Craley, a son of the late Gordon and Grace (Shelly) Sitler. He was a 1956 graduate of Red Lion Area High School and a 1960 graduate of Penn State University. Mr. Sitler retired after more than 30 years of service from Armstrong World Industries where he developed and was awarded numerous patents. Rick served with York County Prison Ministry, as well as, a Lay Pastor/Musical Director at numerous Churches throughout York. He enjoyed volunteering with Child Evangelism Fellowship and was active with street evangelism. Rick held a lifelong love of music, especially playing the trumpet. He could often be found in Craley playing his trumpet and sharing the word of God.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Sitler is survived by a daughter, Julie M. and husband Dana Stump of Red Lion; two sons, Kevin A. and wife Carmen Sitler of Red Lion and Paul E. and wife Jennifer Sitler of Craley; seven grandchildren, Tessa, Jordan, Samuel, Courtney, Kyle, Owen, Lillian; and ten great grandchildren.
