Richard N. "Dick" Lacy, 93, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at Ohio Living Rockynol with his daughter and daughter-in-law by his side. He was the husband of the late Betty L. (Bower) Lacy.
Born March 22, 1931 in Allentown, PA the youngest child of the late Daniel B. and Clara A. (Deery) Lacy, he was a graduate of Whitehall High School. Dick proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He loved his life in York, PA where he performed in community musicals, sang in three choirs, and served as a Stephen minister. Having grown up on an orchard, he always had a garden and loved to grow plants.
He saw beauty in every detail of nature and in every person. He chose to be happy, and he had a joyful spirit that touched many.
Dick is survived by a daughter, Sue Lacy and daughter-in-law Katie Fry of Akron. He treasured his grandchildren, Alisha, Jason (Marika), and Dionna (Neil); great granddaughters, Elaine, Matilda, and Joanna; great grandson Curtis; and great grand puppy Pierre. Dick was preceded in death by his wife Betty, two brothers and six sisters.
Contributions can be made to Ohio Living Rockynol (Staff Appreciation Fund), 1150 W. Market Street, Akron, OH 44313. Celebration of Life will be November 10 at 2pm (calling hours at 1pm), Coventry Oaks Lodge (Firestone Metro Park), 40 Axline Rd, Akron.
