Peggy Jean (Sweitzer) Weitzel

GAITHERSBURG, MD – Peggy Jean (Sweitzer) Weitzel, 66, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at her home. She was the loving wife of Kim James Weitzel and the couple shared 31 years of marriage.

A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA 17408 with Reverand Judy Strayer officiating. Prior to the service there will be a visitation from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM.

Born October 31, 1958 in York, Peggy was a daughter of Donald R. Sweitzer, Sr. (Shirley) and the late Ruth (Swain) Sweitzer. Peggy worked for BAE and later for Fannie Mae as an administrative assistant. In her free time, Peggy enjoyed baking, going on cruises and vacations with Kim, and gardening. Peggy was loved by all and was considered the neighborhood mom.

In addition to her husband, Peggy leaves behind three sons, Ben Weitzel of Ralegh, NC, Jeremiah Yohe (Kayla) of Seven Valleys, and Bradley Yohe (Aly) of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Isabella Yohe, and Grayson Yohe; a brother, Donald R. Sweitzer, Jr. of New Cumberland; a sister, Ellen J. Strayer (Jeffrey) of York; and her step siblings, Adam Zarfoss, Holly Gumke, and Lauren Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews.
