Paul N. “Nick” Glagola, 72, of Red Lion, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Craft) Glagola to whom he was married for 38 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 PM, Friday, May 8, 2026 at St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2397 N. Sherman St., York. Officiating the service will be the Very Rev. Fr. Peter Pier. A Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Friday at the church. Burial will be held in St. John Chrysostom Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
Born March 18, 1954 in Butler, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Margaret (Mucha) Glagola.
He dedicated 20 years to law enforcement with the Red Lion Borough Police Department where he was an Administrative Lieutenant. Following his career with Red Lion Borough, he spent 17 years with York College – Campus Safety retiring in 2019. In retirement, Nick was also a valuable part time associate with Heffner Funeral Homes.
Nick was a founding member of St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church in York. In addition, Nick was also a 1976 graduate of York College where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a Life Member of both the Grantley Fire Co. in Spring Garden Twp and the Leo Independent Fire Co. in Red Lion. He was a member of the York County Fraternal Order of Police – Lodge #73, The Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch, and both the Viking and Victory Athletic Associations.
Mr. Glagola is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Spangle and her husband, Patrick of York and Kenda Kulp and her husband, George of Wellsville; one son, Kenneth Kauffman and his wife, Pascha of York Springs; nine grandchildren, Sidney, Noah and Zachary Kauffman, Lottie Caraballo, Karly, Cassidy and Jeremy Spangle and Nathan and Garon Kulp; one great grandson, Jaxton Caraballo; two brothers, Mark Glagola of Texas and Charles Glagola and his wife, Roxanne of Butler; one sister, Susan Campbell and her husband, Jeff of Butler and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2397 N. Sherman St., York, Pa 17406.
