Patricia L. (DelRosso) Simmons, of York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at York Hospital with family by her side.
Patricia was born in Pittsburgh, and raised in Trafford, by parents Leo and Elsie DelRosso, alongside her beloved siblings, brother James and her late sister, Francine, and a close-knit community of extended family. Marriage took Patricia to Maryland, where she spent much of her life in Potomac and Germantown. For the last 6 years, she made her home in York, close to the center of her universe; her daughter, Melissa, whom she lost in 2022; her granddaughters, Jordan, Aidan, and Morgan; and her devoted son-in-law, Greg Lese. She was also proud grandmother to Harper, Natasha, and Leo, children of her son, Mark Simmons, of Charlotte, NC. Patricia is also survived by niece Kelly DelRosso of Woodland Park, NJ, and her brother, James DelRosso.
Patricia's greatest accomplishment was the love she gave as mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was wildly smart, funny, and empathetic, and her beauty and exceptional baking skills will be remembered by all who knew her. Patricia could often be found enjoying time with family and friends (usually to a Taylor Swift soundtrack), rooting for her Pittsburgh Steelers, or conquering new levels in her favorite games. She was always up for a long chat about the latest scoop with any of the many wonderful women in her life. She was deeply loved.
Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family in both York and Pittsburgh. Patricia will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery & Mausoleum in North Versailles. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association at heart.org or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at https://pancan.org/
