Patricia May (Markel) Thompson

YORK- Patricia May (Markel) Thompson, 76, died on Monday, January 1, 2024 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Robert L. Thompson to whom she was married for 32 years.

Services and burial are private at the convenience of the family at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born on February 19, 1947 in West York, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dena (Osburn) Markel. She was a 1965 graduate of Red Lion High School and a 1966 graduate of Empire Beauty School in York. Pat worked a few years at Colonial Beauty Shop before going to work at Yorktowne Kitchens until they closed and retired with 43 years of service.

Pat enjoyed crocheting and various crafts and boating and fishing at their RV in Ocean View, DE.

Along with her husband, Robert, Pat is survived by her sister, Pamela Markel; and her niece, Samantha Markel and her boyfriend, Martin Pomraning. She was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer Markel, Jr.
