Patricia Lee Barley

Patricia Lee Barley, age 81, transitioned into life eternal on Friday, June 20, 2025. The family rejoices that she is now in the presence of her Savior and is reunited with her family and friends that had gone on before her. Born June 7, 1944, in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Marea (Stough) Henry Sr. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Barry Lee Barley. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Pat is survived by her daughters, Debra (Gregory) Loop and Donna (Kyle) Carwile; her four granddaughters Rebekah (Thomas) O’Brien, Jamie (Joshua) Pope, Brianne (Jeremy) Torres and Megan Carwile; and her five great-granddaughters Angela, Kathrin, Clare, and Isabelle O’Brien and Wynn Torres. She leaves a younger sister Faye (Terry) Barley, and four brothers James (Cheryl) Henry, Walter Henry Jr, William (Deb) Henry, and Jeffrey Henry as well as nieces and nephews.

Patricia graduated as valedictorian from Dallastown Senior High School. She entered the workforce after her daughters were in middle school. For more than 20 years Pat managed the shipping department of the Hellam Hosiery, and for 10 years she managed the childcare services at Unique Physique. Pat’s greatest joy was her family. She was actively engaged in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She served as an assistant Girl Scout leader and managed the Girl Scout Cookie sales during her daughters’ childhood years. She was at every sporting event, school play, music recital, and band performance. “Grams” provided free babysitting, chauffeuring, and cleaning services to her family. To add fun to the holidays, Pat would dress as the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus bringing gifts and surprises to her grandchildren. She brought joy and laughter to so many people. She loved playing practical jokes and bringing fun to the party. She enjoyed camping, boating, and hosting gatherings for family and friends.

Patricia lived in Hellam, PA for 55 years. She spent her life serving the Lord as a Youth Leader, Sunday School teacher, and Church Treasurer at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Even on her death bed, Pat’s message and heart's desire was for all to know that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Pat awaits the heavenly arrival of her family and friends. She invites those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to open their hearts to Him. For as John 3:36 says, "He that believeth on the Son has everlasting life." She was not afraid of death and eagerly awaited her passing as she longed to be reunited with the love of her life, Barry. She will be sorely missed by many.
