Palma Lerlene Holtzinger

LEBANON - Palma Lerlene Holtzinger, 83, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Lebanon VA Medical Center. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be from 1-2:00 PM Wednesday at the Red Lion Chapel. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery. Born October 31, 1923 in Red Lion, a daughter of the late George H. and Henrietta M. [Frey] Holtzinger, she was a 1943 graduate of Red Lion High School and earned her RN degree in 1946 from York Hospital School of Nursing. Miss Holtzinger was a US Navy veteran having served as a Lieutenant JG naval nurse during the Korean War era. Miss Holtzinger is survived by a brother, Robert L. Holtzinger of Berlin, MD; two sisters, Flo M. Ness of Dallastown and Norma K. Messman of York; and 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, G. Nevin Holtzinger and Zane Richard Holtzinger; and a sister, Ruth Cantrell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 4219 Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
