P. Lynn Henry

YORK - P. Lynn Henry, 95, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 14, at the York Hospital. He was born at home in Seven Valleys on August 16, 1928, to the late Paul R. and Lettie (Heindel) Henry. He was the husband of the late Marjorie Henry to whom he had been married for 57 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Jill (Henry) Errickson and her husband, David of Dallastown; his son, Scott Henry of Washington, DC; his granddaughter, Alexis Prego Fontana and her husband, Frodo Fontana of Buenos Aires, Argentina; step-granddaughter, Libby Errickson of Baltimore; two brothers, Dean Henry and Lowell Henry and their wives; a sister, Shirley Cook; brother-in-law, Nelson Alpaugh, and many nieces and nephews.

Lynn graduated from York Junior College and Lock Haven College with a degree in health/phys.ed. and was a coach and gym teacher at Dallastown Area High School. After receiving a masters’ degree in counseling from Penn State University, he became a guidance counselor at Dallastown until his retirement in 1990.

Commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps from 1951-1954, Lynn served overseas in the Korean war. He was also a member of the Dallastown Lions Club for many, many years. An avid golfer, he played the game well and enjoyed many happy hours on the links. He shot a hole-in-one at Briarwood East at the age of 82. His last few years were spent with his wonderful friends at Country Meadows at Leaders Heights where he enjoyed endless games of Bingo, poker, 500 and Rummikub.

A visitation will be held April 19th at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 West Main St., Dallastown, PA from 12:30-1:00 with the funeral service immediately afterward. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 N. George St., York with military honors performed by the Dallastown American Legion Veterans Honor Guard.
