YORK—Norma J. (Koontz) Walker, 85, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her residence in York Township. She was the wife of the late Patrick A. Walker to whom she was married for 49 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00AM, Monday, December 01, 2025 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Don Alspaugh. Viewings will be held from 4:00 – 6:00PM, Sunday, November 30th and 9:00 – 10:00AM, Monday, December 1st at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
Born July 24, 1940 in White Hall, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late David W. and Florence E. (Wright) Koontz.
She was employed with Wellspan-York Hospital in their newborn nursery for 13 years. Following her retirement from York Hospital, she worked for several years at Maple Donuts on St. Charles Way in York.
A member of the Dallastown American Legion Ladies Auxiliary – Post 605, she was also a member of the Red Lion American Legion – Post 543 and Assembly of God Church in Shrewsbury. She loved staying active and enjoyed socializing with family and friends. Playing bingo and trips to the local casinos and Las Vegas were a few of her favorite ways to spend her time.
Mrs. Walker is survived by three daughters, Joyce Aldinger of Panama City, FL, Patti Darr and her significant other, Jeff Dulaney of York and Betty Rose and her husband, Buddy of Glen Rock; six grandchildren, Tory Fry, Shaun Winkler, Sarah Aldinger, Bethany Spicer and Kyler and Brady Anderson; nine great grandchildren, one brother, David “Butch” Koontz and his wife, Cynthia; two sons-in-law, Joseph Darr and Kevin Anderson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Anderson and her sister, Cora Crawford.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 235 St. Charles Way, Suite 250, York, Pa 17402.
