YORK - Norma A. (Kiesel) Triplett, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born January 22, 1942, in Little Falls, New York, Norma was the daughter of the late Bodo (Bud) R. and Mildred (Karpey) Kiesel. She was a graduate of Dolgeville Central High School and completed secretarial training at Mildred Elley Business School in Albany, New York.

Norma was proud of the career she built with what is now the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). She was recruited by the Naval Investigative Service Resident Agency (NISRA) office in Utica, New York, where she quickly established herself as an outstanding Administrative Assistant. Following her family's relocation to Churchtown, Pennsylvania, in 1972, she accepted a position with the NISRA office in Philadelphia. Despite the extremely long commute, she loved her job and looked forward to every day. Her exceptional leadership and dedication earned recognition throughout the organization and led to an appointment at NCIS Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

In that role, Norma traveled extensively to U.S. Navy installations around the world. Wherever her work took her, she always found time to explore local attractions and appreciated the unique character of each destination. Upon completing that assignment, she concluded her distinguished government career as an Adjudicator responsible for military personnel matters.

Love is one of our greatest blessings, and Norma was fortunate to experience it throughout the chapters of her life. She was first married in 1961 to David C. Johnson, of Inghams Mills, New York, with whom she welcomed and raised their two beloved children, Melissa and Michael. She later married John W. Triplett, a long-time friend, and together they fulfilled their dream of living on a lake in Maine. Following John’s passing, she found enduring companionship with Forrest Allison, who brought love, laughter, and happiness during the final 24 years of her life. Each of these men held a special place in her heart and helped shape the rich and meaningful life she lived.

Norma embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. Whether raising her children with Dave, enjoying lakeside living in Maine with John, or sharing retirement and travel with Forrest, she found joy in every season. She was an avid reader who loved complicated plots and varied writing styles, a talented crafter, a creative problem solver who could fix anything, and was never, ever bored.

A member of the York Corvette Club for more than 20 years, she treasured the friendships she formed through the organization. Those friendships extended far beyond York, leading her to host Corvette enthusiasts from around the world. Inspired by these connections, Norma and Forrest embarked on their trip of a lifetime, touring New Zealand, Australia, and Hawaii.

Other great joys in Norma's life included her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Abby; corresponding with and visiting family and friends; hosting gatherings; and bringing a smile to everyone she met. Her warm spirit, kindness, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Norma is survived by her partner, Forrest Allison, her daughter, Melissa Johnson (Paula Bomberger) of Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania; her granddaughter, Christine M. Johnson of Springfield, Pennsylvania; her brother, Ronald W. Kiesel of Meredith, New Hampshire; and numerous cousins including Lorraine Toher of Watertown, Massachusetts and Eileen (Toher) Hauser of New Berlin, Wisconsin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael D. Johnson, in 1988, her former husband, John W. Triplett, in 2000, and first husband David C. Johnson in 2008.
