Norma Jane (Goodling) Shuff

YORK - Norma Jane (Goodling) Shuff of York Township, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Millard Goodling & Erma (Crumling) Goodling. Norma was the wife of the late Rodney G. Shuff with whom she shared 48 years of marriage until his passing on January 4, 1998.

She liked to say that she isn’t going to die, but “go over the rainbow.” 

She was a 1949 graduate of William Penn Senior High where she met her husband. 

Her favorite recreation in later years was playing bridge at the White Rose Bridge Club and volunteering at Apple Hill Surgical Center. 

There were many loves in Norma’s life: her gardens, her baby grand piano, the years owning “The Yorktowne Gift Shop" (1973-1983), golfing at the Outdoor Country Club and the Country Club of York. She loved making Christmas magical, but most of all, she loved the time spent with her wonderful family. 

Norma is survived by her children, Geoffrey & Peggy Shuff, David & Sue Shuff and their children, Jon Shuff & Emily Ranaldi, Lori Shuff and her son Max of Orlando, FL and Melissa Parks, grandchildren Lindsay and Laura Jane, and her great-grandchildren Tanner, Cameran, and Colbie. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Barton Shuff and her best friend and Sister, Myra Keigler. She is also survived by special niece, Lynn Keigler Pforr, & brother-in-law, Richard Shuff, and family. 

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA, with Certified Celebrant Amy M. Favorito officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Loganville.
