Norma J. (Fitzkee) Gohn

Norma J. (Fitzkee) Gohn, 90, of York, Pennsylvania, passed away at the Nursing Care Center at Normandie Ridge on Monday, August 3, 2026. She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Gohn, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage.

Born on August 25, 1935, in York, Norma was the daughter of the late Oliver W. Fitzkee and Edna M. (Geesey) Fitzkee. After graduating from William Penn Senior High School, she worked 35 years for GTE-Sylvania, where she discovered her love of accounting. Following her retirement in 1989, she and her husband spent several years in northwestern Pennsylvania before returning to York. 

Through the years, she attended various churches, serving as Sunday school teacher and treasurer and hosting Bible study groups in her home. A book lover from the time she was a girl reading Nancy Drew stories, she devoured everything from murder mysteries to biographies to political commentary. 

Norma is survived by her daughter Lonna S. Howard (Darvin) of York; six grandchildren, Brahn Howard (Rebecca), Erica Woodson (Scott), Micah Howard (Tiffany), Kelci Fauser (Michael), Heather Jansen (Rob), and Rebecca Vinson (Andy); 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son Rick A. Gohn, sister Charlotte Y. Mundis, and brother Glenn A. Fitzkee. 

A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Rose Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of arrangements.
